Faith and Trust! I heard this throughout the Book of Genesis – such a blessing. God’s people knew who their God was, they trusted him, and continued to do what they heard the Lord telling them to do. The promises were not fulfilled immediately it took years, at times it seemed like generations. Reflection — it is so difficult to wait upon the Lord! Amazingly, the people seemed to know that they (the offspring of Abraham) were blessed, as when Laban requested that Jacob not leave and said, “Please stay, if I have found favor in your eyes, for I have learned by experience that the Lord has blessed me for your sake.” Reflection –Is it ever obvious that the Lord is working in me? The Lord is always watching, guiding and seeing that His plan will be fulfilled in his people. Yet bad things happened to God’s people but Joseph made a statement that really spoke to me when he was speaking to his brothers — “you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good.” God showed me over and over again that He wants what is good for His people. Reflection — I need to listen more closely for God’s word – He wants our love and companionship, we are His creation made in His image.
